Lydia money pots allow collecting money via a web page for events among close friends, without imposing a specific amount on participants. Their creation is simple and free, and it is not necessary to have the application or a Lydia account to contribute.

Creating a money pot

The customer with a verified profile can create a money pot free of charge. Money pots that have been created and are still open are accessible from the "Money pots" screen in the application.

This service must not be used for public fundraising appeals, such as donations to causes, social associative projects, or entrepreneurial projects.

The online participation page

Each Lydia money pot is automatically linked to a dedicated online page, accessible via a unique URL to receive contributions. This page can be viewed from any device connected to the Internet (computer or smartphone).

The creator can customize the page to present the purpose of the money pot and encourage visitors to participate.

Sharing the money pot page

To receive contributions, the creator must access the money pot page within the app and share the URL via a messaging service by clicking on the "Share" icon

Visitors can also share the link to the online page by clicking the "Share" icon located at the top right.

QR Code Option

From the online page, the creator or visitor can share the money pot as a QR code. This QR code allows anyone to open the money pot page by scanning it, just like any other QR code.

It is possible to download as a PDF or print this QR code. Folding marks make it easy to transform into a self-standing display stand.

Participating in a money pot

Visitors to the page can contribute for free in various ways. A web browser with the link to the money pot and a payment method are sufficient; it is not necessary to download the Lydia application or create an account.

The participant must choose an amount and provide their first and last name, or at least the name of the payment method holder. Anonymous participation is not possible.

by bank card

Participation is possible with a debit, credit, or prepaid card, whether personal or professional.

By bank transfer

From their bank's application

Participants can make an instant or standard bank transfer from their banking application to the dedicated IBAN shown on the money.

Some banks require the IBAN owner's name and the BIC. In this case, enter the first and last name of the money pot creator (displayed at the top of the page) and the BIC: LYDIFRP2XXX
If the transfer is made to the IBAN of a closed money pot, it will be automatically returned to the sender.
From the money pot page

A "Participate with your bank" button shows a list of compatible banks, thus avoiding the need to copy-paste the money pot IBAN and allowing the operation to be completed entirely via the participant's banking application.

With the Lydia (or Sumeria) application

  • From a computer, click the "Participate with Lydia" button and then finalize the transaction on your phone.
  • From a phone, the "Participate with Lydia" button will automatically open the application. The customer can also participate with a Sumeria account if they have the application.

With Apple Pay or Google Pay

It is possible to participate with Apple Pay and Google Pay, depending on the device and web browser used by the visitor.

Tracking contributions

As the money pot creator

The money pot creator can view and track all contributions directly from the history within the app.

  • They can choose to receive an email notification for each new contribution.
  • By enabling "push" notifications, they are instantly alerted to every contribution.

As a participant

The participant can pin a money pot in their app by clicking “Follow this money pot” from the participation screen. This feature allows them to contribute later and track the progress of contributions, provided the creator has enabled this option in the online page settings.

Participants can stop following the money pot at any time. Additionally, once the creator closes the money pot, it automatically disappears from the app.

Withdrawal of collected money

The creator has two options to retrieve the money:

  • Withdraw the money to their Lydia wallet, from which they can then make an instant bank transfer;
  • Purchase an Amazon gift card. The code is received immediately in the application and then by email a few seconds later.
Only the creator is authorized to withdraw the money; it is not possible to add members to a money pot.

Fees and commissions

  • Withdrawal to the Lydia wallet:
    • For money pots created after May 1, 2026: A 4% commission applies only to contributions made outside the Lydia and Sumeria applications.
    • For money pots created before May 1, 2026: A 4% commission applies to money pots funds created on Lydia app versions 13.22 and later.
  • Purchase of an Amazon gift card: No commission is applied.
No withdrawal fees are applied to the creator's contributions via the app.
To minimize fees, visitors can prefer making contributions through the Lydia app rather than via the online money pot page.

Closing the money pot

Once the collection is finished and the balance is €0, the creator can close the money pot from the application by clicking on "Close this money pot" (at the bottom of the account page).

This action is irreversible: once closed, the money pot cannot be reopened. The online page becomes inaccessible, and any further participation is impossible.
