In order to combat fraud and ensure the general security of the application, Lydia must know its users and verify their identity. This is a legal obligation.

Once identity verification has been carried out, users will not be able to modify their identity information in the application, including their first and last names.

If users wish to change these details, they must contact the customer service.

Why this rule?

Changes of sensitive personal information, such as first and last names, can represent a major security risk.

By preventing changes of this information after identity verification, Sumeria aims to reduce the risk of fraud and identity theft. It also ensures that accounts remain secure and can only be accessed by the account holder.

Which information is concerned?

Once identity verification has been carried out, users will not be able to change their identity or birth details directly in the application, i.e.:

  • Surname and first name;
  • Date, city and country of birth;
  • Nationality;
  • Gender.
    Conversely, users can update their account details in the application from the "My information" screen:
    - Telephone number;
    - Email address;
    - Postal address;
    - Employment status;
    - Source of income and tax information.

The procedure to follow in the event of a change

Despite these strict security measures, there may be legitimate situations where customers need to change their identity information:

  • Change in marital status (marriage, divorce) ;
  • Request for a change of first name and/or surname at the civil registry office;
  • Gender transition;
  • Error during identity verification.

If a user finds himself in one of these situations, he can contact customer service to request the update by sending an email to hello@lydia.me.

The user is asked to provide proof of identity to support the update request (new identity document, court decision, civil status documents, etc.).

After verification, customer service will make the necessary updates. The user will be informed once the changes have been made.
