The Lydia app allows sending money to a recipient via a secure payment link, without needing to know their personal information. The recipient can then retrieve the money by opening the link, either from a phone with one of the Lydia or Sumeria apps, in which case the link will open directly in the app, or by entering their bank details on a secure Lydia web page.

The link is shared by the customer through their chosen method, for example: Messages, email, WhatsApp, Messenger, etc.

To create a payment link, the customer enters the amount to send, chooses a payment method, and specifies the reason. When selecting the recipient, they must choose the option "payment link to share" and confirm the transaction.

The amount is debited as soon as the link is created and remains pending until the recipient retrieves the money or the link expires.

The minimum amount to create a payment link is €0.50.

To secure a payment, the payer can specify the recipient's name, which limits the retrieval of funds to that person. Without this option, Lydia Solutions has no way to verify that the funds are sent to the correct recipient.

Once the link is created, the customer shares it directly with the correct recipient. The link can be sent, for example, by SMS, email, WhatsApp, Messenger, or any other messaging app.

The customer must share the link only with the intended person and via a trusted channel. Anyone with access to the link can retrieve the money, unless the link has been secured with the recipient's name.

Tracking transactions

From the app's history, the customer can check the status of the payment.

The payment link is valid for 7 days. If the recipient does not retrieve the money within this period, the link expires and can no longer be used. The money is refunded to the original payment method when possible, or to the customer's Lydia wallet.

How the recipient can receive the money

The recipient receives the money via the Lydia app or through a web page by entering an IBAN. They see the payment details before accepting it. The link may not work if it is expired, already used, canceled, or if the name or IBAN does not match.
