The customer can enhance the security of the link by providing the recipient's first and last name when creating the payment.

This option limits the retrieval of funds to a person whose name matches the one provided by the customer. The recipient will then have to retrieve the money on a Lydia account or via an IBAN associated with that name.

If the name provided by the customer does not match the holder of the Lydia account or the IBAN used by the recipient, the retrieval of the money may be refused.

Locking by email and unlock code

When the payer has not secured the payment with the recipient's name, the recipient can secure the retrieval of the money by locking the link with an email address.

Once the link is locked, an unlock code is sent to that address. The recipient must then enter this code to proceed with retrieving the money.

This code is temporary. If it is expired or incorrect, the recipient will need to request a new code or restart the verification step.

Once the link is locked with an email address, this address cannot be changed. The recipient must therefore ensure they use a valid and accessible email address.

Security best practices

To use a payment link securely, it is recommended to:

  • verify the recipient's identity before creating the link;
  • add the recipient's first and last name to strengthen security;
  • share the link only with the intended recipient of the funds;
  • not publish the link in a public space (for example, in a group chat);
